Pro-, anti- sides poised for future court pick - washingtonpost.com Highlights - MSNBC.com

Wow, amazing what the democrats are planning on doing 15 minutes after Bush announces his supreme court nomination. Both sides have been planning for years about what to do the first few days following a nomination... Astounding...

Mobile Magazine: Mobile's Fall 2005 Phone Preview

Hmmm, I think I like this one the best (Motorola Pebl V6) looks-wise. I can imagine having this smooth phone in my pocket and sort of rotating it in my hand while in my pocket...

Longhorn's Missing Snap Factor

I love reading John Dvorak's commentary... he always tells it like it is, no bull. I think I was already convinced that my next computer was going to be an Apple, but the more I read about Longhorn (Microsoft's next OS) the more I'm sure of my decision. What a joke Longhorn is!

Apple releases WebObjects as a free application

Interesting... I used to work for NeXT before Apple bought them in their sales group. We were selling it for hundreds of thousands of dollars back then....
Grand Theft Auto Meets Robocop

This is a pretty sweet new invention (given that my own car was once stolen): A robotic eye attached to the top of police cars in LA can read all the license plates of cars all around them, even while driving, going up to 75 mph! It then automatically checks all the plates against a database to check if they're stolen, and alerts the officers in the car when a match is found! In one night alone, it recovered 7 stolen cars, without the officers having to do anything but pull over the identified car!

If some Software Developers built houses

This is really funny - What would happen if UI developers were architects? Here's a comment by a user:

"You forgot the best part. Before Herbert even got to see his home, he had to first pay for it, then agree to a “contract” that he didn’t get to see before he paid. Once he got home, he had to call the contractor to get a secret code he had to correctly enter through the door bell button before he was allowed to go in.
Oh, Herbert better be careful. If he replaces more than a few appliances, the builder may think Herbert stole the home or built one just like the original and is trying to live in that one too. If the builder feels generious, he may let Herbert enter his code through the doorbell button again, otherwise he will just have to come down a buy a new house."

43 Things

Very interesting site about what people in the world want to do. Try entering some things you've always wanted to accomplish and find out how many other people want to do that too!

Play 20 Question With Darth Vader

He's pretty good! I chose a yellow highlighter (he first warned me not to be specific) and he ended up guessing a pen! Not too shabby....

Gamasutra - Features - "Unionize Now?" Printer Friendly

Should gaming software developers unionize? Should all software developers unionize? Come on, what's wrong with 80 hour work weeks anyways? ...this is a good discussion of pros & cons of unionization.
